Dial-Up User Instructions
If you leave your computer during a large download, Dial-Up account will time out your internet connection and you will get a "file corrupt" message while trying to run your file. You can avoid this by surfing the internet during your download.
If you want to walk away from your computer while downloading, make sure you configure your mail program to check for messages every few minutes.
- In Outlook Express, this is set in the "Tools" menu under "Options", then "General".
- In Netscape Messenger, go into the "Edit" menu, then choose "Preferences", "Mail and Newsgroups", then "Mail Servers". You'll see your account server listed. Choosing your server, then clicking on the "edit" button will allow you to configure how often you check mail.
